(Written by one of our Directors, Ina, after a visit to Club Med Kani)
After arriving at Mahe airport it is about a 20 minute boat transfer to Kani.
We were received very warmly by the GO’s at the pier and taken to the reception area where we checked in while receiving refreshments. Then we were taken to our room which was on the beach, surrounded by palm trees looking onto the turquoise ocean. So the pictures in the brochures weren’t photo shopped after all. I didn’t think it was possible for the sea to have this incredible turquoise colour. We had arrived in PARADISE!!!! What to do first? Go for a swim in that very tempting blue sea? Or go for a cocktail at the beach bar? Decisions, decisions….
Although the island is fairly small and one can walk around it in about 15 minutes we didn’t get bored once. We spent a lot of time swimming and relaxing on the beach. We explored the underwater world by snorkelling. You also have the option to scuba dive, surf, stand up paddle, jet ski, water ski, join a group on the beach for a game of volleyball or relax in the spa. The air conditioned gym has the most incredible setting, right on the beach. It really must be the gym with the best location on this planet. You will need to participate in some of the activities to burn off some energy as you will be indulging in the most delicious meals. Again, the restaurants have the most beautiful settings, right on the beach or on the sea. They offer a range of different cuisine, something to suit everybody’s taste buds. After dinner the staff at Club Med provide evening entertainment. A nice way to end the day.
And everywhere on the island you will only find the most attentive and friendly staff. In the restaurants, at the bar, at the spa…beautiful, warm, sincere people.
We created memories that will last us a life time. Club Med has managed to create a piece of heaven. For a week we forgot that anything else existed besides the sunshine, white beaches, turquoise ocean, delicious food and beautiful people.
Can you Imagine your perfect paradise? Then you can imagine Kani!
