Namibia The Republic of Namibia is a vast, sparsely populated country situated along the south Atlantic coast of Africa. Namibia, previously known as South West Africa, is bordered by South Africa in the south, Angola and Zambia in the north and Botswana and Zimbabwe in the east.
Namibia offers a variety of unusual attractions including the glow of desert dunes at sunset, the magic silvery shimmer of Etosha Pan, surreal rock formations and extinct volcanoes.
Most popular getaway:
Serra Cafema Camp, one of the remotest destinations in all of Africa, offers one of the most memorable experiences.
Situated on the banks of the Kunene River, the camp consists of 9 canvas and thatched chalets on decks, each with its own en-suite bathroom. Activities include exploring the breathtaking landscape, traversing the sand dunes on carefully guided quad-bike excursions, Springbok, Ostrich and Oryx sightings, walking in the remote mountain and river valleys and boating on the Kunene River.
Botswana / Zimbabwe / Zambia / Namibia
Botswana is bordered by Zambia and Zimbabwe to the northeast, Namibia to the north and west, and South Africa to the south and southeast. At Kazungula, four countries - Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Namibia - meet at a single point mid-stream in the Zambezi R iver.
Our favorite property in this area:
Impalila Island is a unique island situated at the meeting place of two mighty African rivers, the Chobe and Zambezi, and four countries, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana. This is the only place in the world where four countries meet. Impalila Island forms the north-eastern tip of Namibia and lies just 70km's west of Victoria Falls. The surrounding area is an amazing mosaic of waterways, floodplains and bushveld and host to exceptional birdlife, game viewing and assorted vegetation. The waters offer outstanding fishing opportunities. Impalila Island Lodge is a 16-bedded luxury lodge with much to offer discerning clients. It is also the most secluded and remote of the Chobe destinations but close enough to offer guests the very best of the Chobe river, that is, game viewing by boat.
